How It Works: The design allows you to set the hook quickly by holding the butt of the rod (which acts as a pivot) with one hand while setting the hook with the other. This same motion automatically releases the rod from the holder.

Our Story
Inspiration from Experience: In 2020, during a two-day tournament at Red Lake, I repeatedly lost fish because after setting the hook, the rod stayed in the holder. This issue sparked the idea for a rod holder that would release the rod automatically with the hook-setting motion.
Development Process: While driving home from the tournament, I began thinking about how to create this improved rod holder. After building four prototypes and refining the design, a successful version was developed.
Patent and Usage: Two and a half years later, the invention received a patent. I have been using Carter's Quick Release for three years and I have noticed an improvement in my catch.
